Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated, dependable Wrangler/Ranch Hand to join our ranch team. This position blends guest-facing wrangler duties with essential ranch work. Responsibilities range from caring for and managing our horse herd and leading trail rides to assisting with daily ranch chores such as irrigation, fencing, and general maintenance. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, has strong horsemanship skills, and is comfortable wearing many hats on a working ranch. Restrictions: No pets, no smoking.
Key Responsibilities
Horsemanship & Guest Experience
Assisting with daily care of the horse herd, including feeding, grooming, saddling, and basic health monitoring
Leading or assisting with guided trail rides for guests of varying riding abilities
Ensuring guest safety and providing a welcoming, educational, and enjoyable riding experience
Maintaining tack, equipment, and horse facilities
Assisting with basic horse training and conditioning as needed
Leading guests in various activities during the day and participation in evening activities
Ranch & Property Work
Assisting with irrigation systems and water management
Building, repairing, and maintaining fencing and gates
Supporting general ranch chores, including groundskeeping and equipment upkeep
Helping with livestock-related tasks as needed
Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe ranch environment
Qualifications
Strong horsemanship skills and confidence handling horses independently
Previous wrangler, ranch, farm, or agricultural experience preferred
Comfortable working long hours outdoors in varying weather conditions
Physically capable of lifting, bending, riding, and performing manual labor
Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude
Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
Good communication skills and a guest-friendly demeanor
Valid Driver’s License
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
Experience leading trail rides or working at a guest ranch
Basic mechanical, fencing, or irrigation experience
Plant/wildlife/bird identification
First aid or equine first aid knowledge
Ability to hook up and tow livestock trailers
Proficient with manual transmission
